Good Morning…
Another Snowstorm! Who had to shovel snow yesterday?
All this snow shoveling and snow-blowing can wreak havoc on the musculoskeletal system. Especially the Lower Back, Neck and Shoulders.
But if you must shovel snow…here are some helpful safety tips.
1) Wear layers of clothing to keep the muscles warm and flexible.
2) Perform some warm-up stretches before picking up the shovel.
3) Push the snow straight ahead, avoid twisting and don’t throw the snow.
4) Bend with your knees and take frequent breaks.
If you feel chest pain or shortness of breath…stop, rest and get some help.
And If you do experience Back Pain…call Dr. Joe and remember the 5 most dangerous words are “Maybe it Will Go Away”.
